PERSONAL INJURY, WRONGFUL DEATH& CIVIL LITIGATION

It is our promise that you will never see this firm “advertised” on television nor will anyone associated with it make you promises of a large settlement only to get your business. We will deal with you honestly from our initial evaluation of your claim through settlement, trial or appeal. Having represented insurance companies for a number of years, Mr. Embry understands the frustrations injured parties face when trying to put their lives back together and will use that experience to obtain the best result for you.

ESTATE PLANNING

As our nation’s population ages the need for informed estate planning grows. Estate planning is more than just a Will, although that is generally the first step that we advise you to take. Proper estate planning will minimize potential taxes and fees while planning for health care treatments and retirement. A proper estate plan addresses home, investments, business, life insurance, your employee benefits (such as a 401K plan), and other property in the event you became disabled, incapacitated, or pass away. In addition to Darren L. Embry’s legal experience in this area, Derrick M. Embry is of only 500 nationally certified estate planners by the National Institute of Certified Estate Planners (NICEP). Of those over 500 certified estate planners only 6 reside in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Together they are in the best position to not only protect your assets but also maximize your economic growth.

CRIMINAL DEFENSE

Whether it’s a petty offense, misdemeanor, or felony, your rights are guaranteed by the United States and Kentucky Constitutions. The Rules of Criminal Procedure are different from the Rules of Civil Procedure and while the terminology associated with criminal defense may not be foreign (search, arrest, booking, arraignment, trial, sentencing) their implications may have devastating effects on you or a loved one. Before you proceed into the Courts you should seek legal counsel, whether it be with this firm or another.

BUSINESS FORMATION

Whether it be a sole proprietorship, partnership, S corporation, C corporation, limited liability company, limited liability partnership, or professional service company, the business form you choose determines your liability and how you will be taxed. Consulting with a lawyer should be your very first step when you start your business. It can be the difference in losing an investment and losing your home.

EDUCATION

The area of education law is very limited in its participants. Having represented numerous teachers throughout the Commonwealth, both on an individual basis and also on behalf of the Kentucky Association of Professional Educators, the Firm has the experience necessary to help teachers fight for their professional rights, wheter it be in Circuit Court or addressing the matter administratively before the applicable School Board and Superintendant or Educational Professional Standards Board (EPSB).
